Springtime in Red
I recently finished a second Springtime shawl, the same Marianne Kinzel pattern that won first prize for me at the Virginia State Fair, this time for a friend. This shawl was completed in December 2005. I knitted this with Jaggerspun Zephyr yarn in Cinnabar. Needles were size 3. As always, Kinzel's pattern is flawless and a lot of fun to knit.
update: My friend Frances was nice enough to brave the frigid wind and model it. I wish it looked this good on me!

My word...that has to be one of the top 5 shawls I've ever seen. I also gasped as it loaded. The selection of yarn, color and pattern is perfection. Not to mention, of course, the technical skill :)
Congradulations on a fabulous piece of inspiration.

Lucie,
I love your beautiful shawls. They are awe inspiring.
Do you get any joy out of the knitted lace list? I tried to join, but can't get anywhere and my emails weren't answered.
Keep up the good work

Gorgeous! I think I'm going to have to get that book. (After a search of my shelves, chanting, "I know I have that book," and finding the Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting, not the First.

Hi,
I know I'm a bit behind the times here, but I happened across your beautiful shawls and noticed you mentioned the Shetland Tea Shawl. Have you knit this one? You other shawls are gorgeous.
I ask b/c I'm up to the edging on the STS - you mentioned an awkward join. I can't figure out how to transition from shawl to edging! Feeling rather stupid about it too! Any pointers for me? After I do an invisible cast on, the working end of the yarn seems to be on the wrong end of the needle....
